Mexicana Toro Loco

Elisabeth and I went to dinner tonight at Toro Loco. I found this place a number of months ago and have always wanted to take Elisabeth there. The two of us LUV margaritas and mom and pop like cheap mexican food, so this looked like a prime location for us to spend a saturday night. We walked in and found the decorations to be very similar to other places we've found and enjoyed, even the wait staff spoke broken, if any, english. We sat down and immediatly they took our drink order, we got water to start and searched for a drink menu. To our dismay, this was a dry joint. How the heck does a mexican restaurant stay in business without serving tequila I have no clue. Needless to say, we won't be going back. There method of waiting tables was funny though. It was a free for all, no established structure for which waiter took what table. This made me laugh, but drives Elisabeth (a past server) crazy. Within two minutes five separate people asked Elisabeth if she wanted a new diet coke! They were effective! I was really sad though, no margarita...I had my mouth wrapped around one for about two weeks now.

Where is this place? How was the food? My husband loves trying new Mexican joints. You know who surprisingly makes a great Margarita is LongHorn Steakhouse.

It's in southern Ohio, in Portsmouth. The food was mildly ok, I qualify it as cheap mexican. Our meals were only $6 and rather tasty, but no drinks. If you want to drive four hours to eat there, let me know, I'll give you directions!
